was frightened and she went to the fbi. >> more fallout tonight from the cia scandal that took down the director and another key female figure has been identified in this case. hello, i'm bruce johnson. thanks for joining us this sunday night. more details and intrigue tonight in the unfolding scandal surrounding former cia director david petraeus. we now have a name for the woman who went to the fbi setting off the investigation that revealed an extramarital affair and led to petraeus' resignation. her family now has a washington attorney in crisis management team. also new tonight, lawmakers will hold hearings to determine why congress was not kept more fully informed about that fbi investigation. matt jablow picks up the story from here. >> reporter: david petraeus is a great leader, a great patriot. >> reporter: leaders of both parties had great praise on this veteran's day for one of the country's most decorated veterans, former cia director and retired army general okay david petraeus. his accomplishments notwithstanding, most lawmakers agree that petraeus simply had to go after the fbi un

.i.a. director david petraeus. >> we now know the f.b.i. learned about petraeus' affair with his biographer while they were investigating some harassing e-mails from another person. 9 news reporter is live on capitol hill and has what we're looking ahead to today. >> reporter: good morning. there continues to be plenty of drama and plenty of questions surrounding general petraeus' affair. we're learning more about the investigation and the woman on the receiving end of the e- mails of her name is jill kel yi. she received -- kelley. she and her family have been friends with the petraeuses for several years. broadwell saw kelley as a rival. as more details emerge, we're also learning more about the investigation into the situation. members of the intelligence committee say they received no advanced notice that an investigation was even going on and they say this is a huge problem. >> this is something that could have had an effect on national security. i think we should have been told. there is a way to do it. >> it would have been very difficult to continue in his position if he had subordinates
